Just Fortune is typically played by 3 to 6 players using a 52-card pack without jokers. The game starts by placing a wager (boot amount). Each player is dealt three cards face down. Players then make a call (continue without raising) or a raise (add more to the pot). The player who remains until the end with the best hand wins the pot.

From highest to lowest: Trail/Set (three of a kind) → Pure Sequence (straight flush) → Sequence (straight) → Color (flush) → Pair (two of a kind) → High Card. Any hand of a higher category beats any hand of a lower category.
